Custom Software & Platform Engineering is KitelyTech's ground-up application, platform, and systems development service.

KitelyTech's foundation is custom software and mobile development: building applications from the ground up, across frameworks and platforms, and understanding exactly how they connect. That's still what this category is: web applications, mobile apps, ERPs, commerce platforms, and the design work behind all of it, on the same foundation the company started with, long before AI was part of the conversation.

A project that spans a mobile app, a legacy system already in place, an AI integration, and a cloud platform doesn't require separate vendors coordinating around each other; one team already understands how every layer works, because that's where KitelyTech started.

Where this fits

Custom Software & Platform Engineering is delivered entirely through Katalyst Custom™, KitelyTech's fully engineered, validated build process. There's no fixed-scope Launchpad equivalent here; the Launchpad fast-track applies specifically to AI tool configuration, not ground-up application development.

Automotive Manufacturer

Paperless vehicle QA platform

Automotive Manufacturer

Vehicle testing ran on physical checklists and one-off spreadsheets with no central repository. A test that raised a question could not be compared against the fifty that were similar, backlogged paperwork sat between the work and any analysis of it, and every transcription step was a chance to introduce an error nobody would catch.

A digital QA platform covering the full test cycle: vehicle information, pre-test inspection and prep, real-time status updates, post-test deinstallation and release, and end-of-shift processes. Raw data is captured as the work happens rather than transcribed afterward, which clears the paperwork backlog, removes the errors that come with manual entry, and makes automated insight possible through data science and visualization. Test data became a searchable record instead of a stack of paper.

Government Technology Partner

Multi-agency emergency management & family reunification platform

Government Technology Partner

Every county in America can send a mass notification. Almost none can tell a parent where their child is. Reunification is the primary goal in the hours after a school shooting or a hurricane landfall, and it runs on clipboards and a phone bank.

KitelyTech is the client's embedded product and engineering organization. The multi-tenant platform it built is live across three agencies in one metropolitan region: county emergency management, a sheriff's office, and a neighboring city. It layers onto the systems agencies already run. Each holds its own tenant, and the hard part is that agencies work one another's incidents without those tenants merging: shared incident, isolated records, separate authority. The reunification workflow includes AI facial recognition and photo matching. When an agency activates it for an incident, the system matches submitted family photos against intake photos, turning a manual scan of hundreds of faces into a ranked shortlist in seconds. It is agency-triggered and scoped to the incident. It never auto-confirms; a credentialed person makes every decision. The platform minimizes what it holds about children and vulnerable people, and logs every action for the audit that follows. Capacity is reserved ahead of the worst realistic incident rather than scaled into it, because a mass-casualty spike is the wrong moment to discover a ceiling. Nothing is metered during a response.

European Automotive Manufacturer

Custom vehicle delivery platform

European Automotive Manufacturer

For a premium brand, delivery day is the emotional peak of the purchase, and the manufacturer's legacy system had nothing for the customer living it. It trained staff on preparing vehicles and interacting with buyers, but the buyer's own experience of the wait was silence.

A custom delivery platform that runs from point of purchase through delivery and beyond. Customers get exclusive access to track their vehicle's milestones through production and transit, a delivery day built as an experience, feature education for the car they chose, maintenance expectations, and their documentation in digital form. The wait becomes part of the ownership.

Business Advisory Firm

Legal claim administration platform

Business Advisory Firm

A premier US business advisory firm ran claim administration across everything the work actually touches: firm management, project administration, claim handling, creditor management, document control, team collaboration, and the offline processes around all of it.

A comprehensive administrative portal that carries all of it as one workflow, built multi-tenant with a white-label layer, so the firm doesn't just run its own claim administration on the platform. It charges others to run theirs on it too.

CRM platform migration

U.S. Research University

The CRM had reached end of support and had to go, but it was not standalone: integrations ran through it and several dependent systems and databases read from it. Every one of those was a dependency that could break quietly during a migration and surface weeks later, in a report that had simply stopped matching.

A full migration from Dynamics CRM 8.2 with Scribe to Dynamics 365 with SSIS, replacing the dependent systems and databases and re-integrating every data source into the new platform. The integration layer moved with the CRM rather than after it, which is what kept the dependencies intact. The university moved off an unsupported platform without losing a data source on the way.

Solar deployment and monitoring platform

Solar Energy Company

Solar energy management spans creation, deployment, and ongoing monitoring, and the company was running that lifecycle without a system built for it.

A scalable, stable cloud solution that visualizes usage trends and simplifies solar management across the lifecycle, supporting distribution and consumption strategies with data instead of estimates.

Custom logistics operations platform

Drivers and customer accounts were managed by hand, and no SaaS product matched how the business actually ran: tracking, orders, invoicing, staffing, and freight rates, all connected. Filling stations got a delivery when someone called to say they were low.

A custom platform: iPad apps for drivers, web apps for administrators and customers, role-based permissions, and real-time reporting across driver tracking, order management, shipments, invoicing, and messaging. Consumption modeling per station feeds the delivery schedule directly, so a forecast becomes a route rather than an alert someone has to act on.

Comedy Club & Content Producer

Custom streaming platform across web, mobile, and TV

Comedy Club & Content Producer

A comedy club operating live venues and producing original specials had ten years of recorded performances and no platform of its own. Distribution meant other companies' platforms and other companies' subscriber relationships, with no way to point a camera at its own stage and put the feed in front of its own audience.

A custom subscription streaming service spans a responsive website, mobile apps, and Apple TV and Android TV. Members browse specials by format, from five-minute sets to half-hour specials, plus podcasts and a ten-year archive that older releases rotate into. Search works by comedian, category, title, and tag. Favorites drive recommendations. Free and paid tiers run on integrated recurring billing. A live section lets a subscriber pick a club location and watch the show happening on that stage. Behind it all, an admin CMS handles mass video upload, so the producer runs its own catalog.

Home Healthcare Provider

Scheduling and operations platform for care that travels

Home Healthcare Provider

Home healthcare means the clinic goes to the patient, and the scheduling, paperwork, and coordination that a front desk usually absorbs has to happen on the road.

Apps for both sides of the visit on iOS and Android, plus a web admin portal: providers get scheduling and paperwork on the device they carry, patients book and manage appointments, and administrators run the operation from the portal.

Specialty Trade Contractor

Custom operational platform, bid to invoice

Specialty Trade Contractor

A contractor running drywall and paint as two production businesses under one roof, across three markets. The trades share customers and crews and almost nothing else: different takeoffs, different material math, different labor rates, different crew pay. Commercial construction software handled the general case, and the specifics that decide whether a job makes money sat outside it.

A platform that follows a job from the first number quoted to the last invoice paid. Bid sheets built separately for each trade, with square footage calculations by sheet type and floor, material takeoffs by vendor, and labor priced with burden. A won bid converts to a stock sheet with nothing re-entered. Job and lot detail, stock and labor costing, scheme assignment, and billing splits tracked against each invoice. Repairs raised against the job, assigned, scheduled with reason codes, and invoiced or absorbed under warranty. Underneath it, more than twenty master data categories, with material, labor, and pricing defaults set at the city level, so each market prices against its own numbers across three versions of the software. Seventy-one reports ship with the platform, each a defined stored procedure rather than an export someone cleans up by hand. Five roles are controlled at page and field level, so superintendents see production detail in the field with monetary fields hidden.

Electrical Contractor

Cloud construction management platform with AI blueprint takeoff

Electrical Contractor

A contractor specializing in high-end residential and multi-year commercial multi-dwelling projects ran blueprint takeoff, bidding, billing, inventory, project costing, and progress management out of a legacy Microsoft Access database. One aging file carrying the whole operation, manual takeoff counts in a code-heavy environment where an error surfaces at inspection rather than at bid, change orders processed late, and no real-time view of whether a job was profitable while it was still running.

A cloud construction management platform that replaced the legacy system while preserving every workflow that worked. Blueprints, bids, billing, inventory, and project data centralized in a secure cloud environment with automatic backups. AI-assisted blueprint takeoff detects outlets, recesses, loads, and home-runs with code compliance checks, under human review rather than in place of it. Change order capture and monetization automated so revisions stop escaping the billing cycle. Real-time dashboards for profitability, inventory, and job status. An iPad app for field updates and Microsoft Teams for office-to-field collaboration, with deep QuickBooks integration for financial syncing and full auditability throughout.
